    • 1). Shut down Windows properly by clicking on the Windows "Start" button, then "Turn off computer," and then selecting "Turn off." Wait several minutes before proceeding.

    • 2). Restart your computer and press "F8" on your keyboard as the system is rebooting. This will cause the system to start up in Safe Mode.

    • 3). Click the Windows "Start" button on the Desktop. Click on "Run," and then type "regedit" into the text box that appears. Click "OK."

    • 4). Locate the folder labeled "wgalogon" and right-click on it. Then select "Delete."

    • 5). Go to the Windows directory. Conduct a search for any wga files by typing "wga*" into the search text box and clicking on "Search." Delete any wga files found. Close the registry editor.

    • 6). Restart your Windows operating system. Do not press F8 as Windows reboots. Once the computer restarts, you should have disabled WGA and stopped the pop-ups.
