How to Do Skateboard Tricks Easily

    • 1). Study skateboarding videos. Visual study provides help because you can analyze the professionals' movements and their habits. Take advantage of the rewind and slow motion features and try to figure out how the experts do their tricks. Pay attention to their stances and how they execute each stunt.

    • 2). Film yourself. Grab a video camera and set it up, or have a friend film you as you practice the skateboard tricks. Watch your tapes and see if you can spot some things you may be doing wrong. Look at your posture, and how you execute your tricks. Determine if you need to change up your stance or tweak the way you kick your feet.

    • 3). Get second opinions. Show your tapes to friends, or post them online and try to get some feedback on how you can improve and do your skateboard tricks more easily. Alternatively, you can just ask some of the better skateboarders in your neighborhood to watch you and give you some advice next time you're at the skate park.

    • 4). Focus. A huge part of skateboarding is concentration. Not only do you have to practice the tricks themselves, but also you must practice concentration. Skateboarding in real life is not like a video game. You can't just think about the trick and expect yourself to do it automatically. Concentrate and think hard about what you're doing. Focus on your balance, stance, executions, and landing. The better you are at concentrating, the faster you will be able to think and react.

    • 5). Never stop practicing. The key to achieving any goal is to practice until you get it right. Skateboarding can be frustrating, and learning how to do tricks easily is rarely a simple task. However, remind yourself that if you keep practicing, you will eventually reach your goal. If other people can do a hardflip, or a crooked grind, or even something as advanced as a McTwist, then so can you, as long as you practice.
