You get this by placing ads on your site.  There are various types of ads that you can place on your site the most notable among them are PPC (Pay per click) ads like adsense etc these pay you when people click on their ads.  Also CPM (Cost per mile) ads which pay on the number of visitors you get to your site.  You can also palce banner ads directly from an advertiser (For the amount you wish i.e. if your site is famous here theres no middlemen so you get paid more) or you can get banner ads from a network.  There are plenty of other types of ads try them all & see which best suits your site. It may even be a combination of these.  But you have to check with each provider whether they allow ads from other networks to be placed along with their ads.
