Halloween Garfield Games

    • Halloween parties are common during the month of October. Adding an additional theme, such as "Garfield," to your party can be a fun way to make your party unique. When a theme is introduced at a party, it should be the central focus for the games that will be played. Many games can be played by kids and adults alike.

    Pin the Tail on Garfield

    • The game "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" is easily adaptable to suit any theme. Create a scary background to keep with the Halloween theme and then add a large drawing or cutout of Garfield the cat without a tail. To play the game, blindfold each participant and give him a paper Garfield tail with tape or other adhesive stuck to the back. Spin the participant around and then point him in the direction of the poster. He must then stick the tail as close to the right place as possible without seeing what he is doing. The participant who gets the tail closest to the right position is the winner.

    Pumpkin Carve

    • Pumpkin carving is a traditional Halloween activity. Purchase several pumpkins and carving tools before the party. Set the participants up in pairs or individually. Have them use "Garfield" as a theme for their carvings and let them use their imaginations. Make it a competition by awarding prizes for such categories as "best likeness," "funniest" or "most creative."

    Garfield Treasure Bottle

    • Looking for treasures in a bottle can keep participants busy. Create a treasure bottle by getting an empty, see-through bottle (the size is up to you), sand or birdseed and inexpensive trinkets. For a Halloween Garfield party, use Halloween items like spiders, witches, black cats, ghosts, etc., as well as Garfield items such as miniature lasagna, Odie the dog and Garfield the cat trinkets. Put the trinkets and the sand/birdseed into the bottle and mix it up. Create a list of all the items in the bottle and see which team or individual can find all of the items first. Participants look for the items by shaking the bottle and shifting the contents to the surface. Alternatively, don't create a list and see who can find the most items or see who can find a certain item first.

    Costume Contest

    • Costumes are a large part of Halloween. Have your participants dress up as Garfield or Garfield characters. Make it a competition by giving out prizes such as "most original Garfield costume," "best Garfield costume" or "scariest Garfield costume."
