The interior of the Steilneset Memorial is a single 400-foot long corridor with an oak floor. Along the walls are 91 illuminated windows, one for each of the Finnmark victims who were convicted of witchcraft and burned at the stake. Each victim also has a plaque telling his/her story. A total of 135 individuals were tried, and most of the 91 executed were women, but a handful were men.
