- 1). Learn about Type A personalities. An understanding of what to expect from your wife and why she is acts the way she does will help you come to get along better with her. Type A and Type B personalities were suggested by an American cardiologist named Meyer Friedman, who noticed that most of the chairs in his waiting room were worn out at the edges. This suggested to him that most people were sitting on the edges of the chairs, leading him to consider that his patients were generally high-strung, high-energy people, and then to the idea of Type A and Type B personalities.
- 2). Focus on time. Type A personalities are usually in a hurry and have many goals to accomplish in the day, so try to not slow down your wife or otherwise waste time unnecessarily. Finding ways to help her be more efficient and get everything done on her busy schedule is sure to improve your relationship.
- 3). Make plans in advance. Type A personalities generally do not like uncertainties and work best when following a detailed plan. Work together on making the plans so you are both invested in the activities being planned.
