Sample classes include message design and evaluation, software documentation, technical and science editing and ethics.     The Johns Hopkins University

    • The Johns Hopkins University offers an online master of arts degree in Communication. Each online class is limited to 15 students, ensuring individualized instruction. Students work at their own pace and can complete the program on a full- or part-time basis. A special software platform is used to submit all coursework and to communicate with instructors and other students. You can work at your convenience, logging on to watch, listen or read a lecture. Courses include research and writing methods, introduction to the digital age, media effects and applied quantitative research. Ten courses and a master's thesis are required to complete the degree.

The part-time option allows for completion in two years. Focusing on organizational communication and leadership, 10 courses are required for graduation.
