105 4
Ever since you and your partner broke up, you find that he/she is constantly on your mind. This is no doubt affecting your day-to-day life quite badly, so something needs to be done about it as soon as possible. The fact that you can't stop thinking about your ex, especially if this has been going on for quite some time, could be detrimental to your health, so there are issues that you need to deal with, to rectify the problem.

Why do you want your ex back?

You have to analyze exactly why you broke up in the first place, before you can decide whether there is a possibility for the two of you to get back together again. If your reasons for getting together with your ex in the first place were, because you found them extremely attractive, have plenty of money, or that the situation would cure your loneliness, then these reasons are all superficial, and there are plenty of other people out there who are exactly the same. However, if your ex had certain qualities unique to him/her, then yes, it might be a good idea to get back together, as it is because of their uniqueness that you are thinking about him/her constantly.

Did they dump you?

If your partner dumped you because he/she felt that the two of you had nothing in common, then it is highly unlikely that the relationship could work. However, if the reason for the break-up was due to problems which can be solved, then yes, you and your ex could very well get back together, if you can both acknowledge the problems and rectify them in order to create a better relationship.

You think you are perfect for each other?

The relationship broke down due to circumstances beyond your control, and, depending just how bad they were, patience should be exercised before trying to get together again. At this stage, it is vitally important to be supportive of each other and communicate as often as possible.

How do I get them out of my mind?

If there is absolutely no possibility of you and your partner getting together again, this will naturally be the cause of you constantly thinking of him/her, which will affect your daily life very badly. You are obviously still very much in love with your ex, and many things around you remind you of him/her, so, the first step is to get rid of all these things, keep busy, and give yourself time to heal the hurt and anger you are feeling. Eventually, you will find that your mind is not constantly clouded with thoughts of your ex, and you will be able to get on with your life.

What if I don't want to move on?

Immediately after a break-up of a relationship, you are devastated and feel that you cannot, or don't want to move on. This is a normal reaction in such a situation, but, if you follow the advice offered above, you will find that, given time, these feelings will become less, and you will, indeed, be able to move on.
