How to Kill Metallic Wood Boring Beetles
- 1). Apply a coating of pesticide containing disodium octaborate tetrahydrate to all exposed wood surfaces in the infested area using a paint brush or a pesticide sprayer.
- 2). Apply a second coating of pesticide before the first treatment has fully dried.
- 3). Monitor wood surfaces in the area for signs of reinfestation, such as fresh exit holes surrounded with powdery wood dust. If fresh exit holes appear, repeat steps 1 and 2.
- 1). Inject all exit holes with pesticide using a hypodermic needle. Insert the tip of the needle into the hole and inject the pesticide slowly until overflow occurs.
- 2). Apply pesticide to all cracks and crevices in the wood using a paintbrush or pesticide sprayer.
