How to Make a Knotted Fringe for a Knitted Scarf

  • 1). Cut a length of yarn twice as long as you want the fringe.

  • 2). Fold the strand of yarn in half.

  • 3). Push the hook of a crochet hook through the scarf at one of the corners. Push it through at a point very close to the short edge.

  • 4). Hook the doubled end of the yarn in the crochet hook and pull the length halfway through the scarf. You now have two loose ends on one side of the scarf and a loop on the other.

  • 5). Pull the loose ends of the yarn through the loop on the other side and pull them tight to fasten.

  • 6). Repeat steps 1 through 5, creating fringe across both short edges of the scarf.
