Video: How to Apply Glamour Makeup
Video Transcript
Hi, I'm Kelly Machbitz, Certified Image Consultant and Beauty Expert, and today, I'm going to show you how to apply glamor makeup. We started with Keely, nice basic all over foundation to even out her skin tone and then, we applied a really pretty shade of cheek color, a nice kind of peachy pink color; not too dramatic because in glamor makeup, it's all about the eyes and the lips. You can see here, we already did the lips in a pretty red shade and then, we added a nice gloss over the top. So, I'm going to show you how to do the dramatic eye or the glamorous eye that we had demonstrated on this side. So, we're going to start by using our wide eyeshadow brush and apply a base color. And this has got a nice shimmer to it and, "Go ahead and close", and we're going to apply that all over, from lash to brow. This is going to be a nice base coat. Okay, our next step is to apply a darker shade; this is a, a steel gray color and I'm going to use a pointed contouring brush to apply this. So, I'm going to start about halfway in and I'm just going to apply it into the crease and a little bit on the outer corner. So, we have this nice angle going on; this is going to give her that pretty glamorous eye. Yeah, that looks great. And then, we're going to take a third color, a darker shade with a smaller brush and we're going to apply this just to the lower lid, just on the outer corner. "Close your eyes." So, this is going to give her just a little bit more of that glamorous look to the eye and again, we're going to use our larger brush to blend. And then, our next step is to apply the eyeliner and I like to use a nice small eye lining brush and a cream eyeliner. This one is in slate; so, it's a nice dark color and we're going to apply that on the upper lash line and we're going to start out thin and get thicker as we go to the outer corner of the eye. We're going to create that kind of that cat eye, glamor eye look that we see on all the stars. Nice thick line and we're extending it on a little bit on the corner here. "Close, go ahead and close". Okay. And then, our last step of course is we need mascara 'cause glamor requires long lashes. So, if you're not going to go to artificial route, you're going to use a nice black mascara and coat the upper and lower lashes. Let's do a little bit on the lower and we're going to clean up with a Q-tip here, any smudges. Here we go. And you can take a little bit of your concealer 'cause we got a little smudge here and just go right fix that up, any smudges on either side, take your concealer. And there you have it, that's how you apply glamor makeup. I'm Kelly Machbitz, Certified Image Consultant and Beauty Expert.
