How to Make a Beaded Cupcake Charm
- 1). Draw a cupcake on a plank of 1/2-inch thick wood. Make it the size you want for your actual charm. Add details such as a line for the frosting and sprinkles.
- 2). Cut the solid shape of the cupcake out of the wood using a scroll saw. Start the saw and slowly feed the wood into it until you reach the edges of the outline. Continue moving the saw around the edges of the outline until you reach the initial cut.
- 3). Pull the wood off the saw and pop out the shape. Turn the cupcake on its side and drill a hole 1/8 inch through the side of the charm near the top so you can thread a string through, if you want to make the charm into a jewelry accent.
- 4). Sand the edges to make them smooth. Wipe it off with a clean towel to remove the excess sawdust.
- 5). Coat the top of the cupcake in craft glue. Set small beads onto the glued surface with their sides facing upward. Use differently colored beads for each section of the cupcake. For example, white for the frosting, blue for the sprinkles and pink for the base.
- 6). Allow the glue to dry before you move the charm.
