How to Decorate Mobiles
- 1). Cut large circles and squares out of the colored felt sheets to make decorations to hang from the mobile. Cut two of each mobile shape.
- 2). Cut one section of yarn that measures 10 to 12 inches. Tie a small knot on each end. Place the yarn in between the fabrics and let one end hang out over the edge 1/2-inch.
- 3). Insert straight pins around the shapes to hold both pieces together before sewing. Be sure to leave the 1/2-inch of knotted yarn outside of the mobile, while the remainder of the yarn is pinned between the fabrics. Sew both sides of each shape together, leaving open a 1 inch hole to add stuffing.
- 4). Remove straight pins once sewn, and flip the shapes inside out so the seams are on the inside. Allow the yarn to hang off the fabric from the outer edge. Stuff each mobile with pillow stuffing and sew the 1 inch opening shut.
- 5). Cut small shapes out of colored felt sheets to attach to the mobile. Draw the designs onto the felt and cut carefully around the shapes. Some shapes to include are hearts, stars, and circles.
- 6). Attach the small shapes to the mobile with a hot glue gun. Place shapes in a random order to create a more visually stimulating pattern. Use various colors of shapes on each mobile.
- 7). Draw names and designs onto the mobile with fabric paint pens.
- 8). Highlight shapes and word with the glitter pen.
- 9). Hook the shapes onto a mobile arm and attach arm securely to crib.
