How to Make Your Own Christmas Backdrop
- 1). Clear off a large area on the floor or on a table so you can work with other family members. Even if you are working alone, it is good to have a lot of space to move around and to help to prevent accidents like spilling paint or water.
- 2). Brainstorm an overall theme or concept for your Christmas backdrop. You could focus on Santa Claus and have a scene with reindeer and a sleigh, or you could just have a snowy mountain scene with a small cottage at the foot of a mountain with a simple wreath on the front door. You could also just start with the first thing that comes to your mind and work from there.
- 3). Start drawing, painting or coloring. Don't worry about making everything perfect. If you are making a large backdrop that you intend to use for a family photo, don't worry about every little line and detail because they won't be visible in the final picture.
- 4). You can include pictures of your family, friends and pets in your backdrop by cutting out photos. You can also take pictures you see in magazines and newspapers and include them in your backdrop.
- 5). Take a picture of your creation when you are done or scan it into your computer using your scanner if the paper is small enough. You can then set it as your desktop wallpaper or email it to friends and family. You could even print out color copies to send as Christmas cards.
