• Hosta, also commonly known as plantain lily and hosta lily, are a large genus of flowering perennials in the lily family. Hosta thrive in shade and moist soil and grow in a wide array of different hues and leaf patterns. They are prized for their large arching leaves, long life, and their ability to propagate themselves via underground rhizomes and to naturalize in a landscape. Their foliage comes in many shades of green, blue green, gold, creamy butter yellow and white.
