How to Use Ubuntu With an iPod

    • 1). Download Ubuntu onto your computer. Go to the Ubuntu website to download the free operating system. (See References)

    • 2). Launch Ubuntu on your computer.

    • 3). Connect your iPod to your computer's USB port using a USB cable. Ubuntu will recognize the iPod and mount an icon onto your desktop.

    • 4). Listen to music and watch videos from your iPod with the Ubuntu default application Rhythmbox. Similar to iTunes, Rhythmbox will automatically come into view after you've connected your iPod to the computer. However, Rhythmbox is not as advanced as iTunes and does not offer a store with music purchasing capabilities. Rhythmbox only allows you to view, play and organize the contents on your iPod.
