    • 1). Switch your iPod off and activate the hold button. Insert a flathead screwdriver between the iPod mini body and white oval plastic inserts. Gently pry the plastic covers off, which will be attached by three clips and adhesive, both, at the top and bottom of your iPod mini.

    • 2). Remove the two small screws with a Phillip's head screwdriver. They will be visible after removing the top plastic oval insert. Remove the small metal clip at the bottom of your iPod mini by inserting the tip of a screwdriver and gently prying each of the four corners open.

    • 3). Disconnect the orange connector from the bottom of your iPod mini. Gently use a flathead screwdriver to pop it out of its socket, taking care not to damage the connector.

    • 4). Slide the motherboard from the iPod mini case by pushing gently from the bottom. You will see the LCD screen slide out from the top first.

    • 5). Remove the old battery and attach the new one. The blue battery will be connected to the motherboard by two cables that fit into a connector. Grasp the cable and gently pull to free the battery. Replace by attaching and connecting with the new battery.

    • 6). Reassemble your iPod mini by sliding in the motherboard from the top of the iPod mini case. Put the two screws back in, on the top. Reconnect the connector at the bottom and attach the metal clip by pressing it in. Insert the white plastic oval covers back on.
