Synchronicity - Lifting the Veil Between Worlds

103 9
You're thinking about someone and they suddenly call you.
You're talking about an old film, then turn on the TV and find it happens to be on.
You're thinking of a song, turn on your radio, then find it is playing.
These are just a few quick examples of an eerie, mysteries phenomenon that regularly pokes its way into each of our lives, that some call coincidence, others call "meaningful coincidence", and a few call "synchronicity".
Most people miss them when they happen, and fail to make the connection as the synchronicity flies over their head.
Some spot them, but immediately dismiss them.
A few notice, but can't think beyond the bounds of coincidence.
Rarer still are the folks who pay attention and name them, but that's usually as far as it goes.
What are synchronicities? Why do they come? What are they trying to tell us? These are questions asked by the inquisitive, but answered by the very few.
I'm not going to answer these questions, as I don't think an objective answer exists for any of them.
But what I will share is my take on how to harness synchronicity.
How do you use Synchronicity? First of all you need to employ a perspective change.
You need to stop seeing the world as a machine that came together by accident.
Doing this is easy: the first step is just to consider why you're here at all.
If the Universe is just a big giant accident, why does it exist at all? If we're supposed to believe that the entire Universe came out of nothing in a Big Bang, we have to ask why? When you start confounding your mind with the mystery by asking yourself these questions, your perspective will begin to change from the mechanistic-reductionist-materialist paradigm conditioned from birth since the time of Newton, and will open itself up to new concepts and ideas.
So next you need to get tuned in.
How do you tune in to synchronicities? The answer to this question is very simple: pay attention! When you're focused on the reality of now, and not on the fantasy of tomorrow or the memory of yesterday, you already start tuning into the world around you.
Just make it your intention to notice when something unusual happens.
And when you do experience synchronicity - or a coincidence, if you prefer - then look at it.
You don't need to understand it, yet; just look at it and recognise it.
Once you're tuned in you'll start noticing synchronicities occurring in your life all around you.
You'll start seeing them everywhere, and if you're reading this article then you may already be experiencing this.
The next step with synchronicity is to realise that synchronicities are not random and unusual occurences, but that synchronicity actually makes up the very fabric of reality, and that everything is synchronicity.
The brief sparks of coincidence are just windows of insight through which one can catch a glimpse of this vast symphony at work.
This Synchronistic Matrix that underlies reality appears to have an agenda, and that appears to be evolution.
If you consider the only universal truth is that nothing lasts.
The only constant is change.
As Terrence McKenna says:
Nothing lasts.
That's one thing I think you learn from life, psychedelics, or just paying attention.
Very little lasts.
Here's another quote by Terence saying something similar:
In the West, permanence is our great bugaboo, because we are born into the realization that everything is slipping through our fingers at the very moment that it comes into existence.
It's a cause for exhaltation; it's a cause for despair.
It's that nothing lasts.
Nothing lasts.
Not your fortune, not your misfortune.
Not your lovers, your enemies, your children, ultimately not even your own life and body.
Everything fades.
-Terence McKenna When you take notice of the laws of reality and see how they apply to your own life, you may notice that the Universe's agenda of evolution is not just on the macro level, but fractally includes you and everything else in it's scope.
Everything that happens to you is part of a synchronistic mesh designed to give you exactly what you need, exactly when you need it, so that you can evolve.
Now comes the fundamental question - is the Universe intelligent? If you answer yes, you may consider that it synchronistically organises for you a constant stream of exactly what you need to grow and evolve.
You are part of the Universe, and so when you are evolving, the whole is evolving, and you are in harmony with the goal that the Universe is fulfilling.
So what does this mean for me? The point is that everything is synchronicity.
Everything.
You might not always like it, and it's very unlikely you will always recognise it, but if you try to understand that what comes to you are gifts to continue your own evolution, then you will be better able to work with them, and better able to harness synchronicity.
These gifts most often come as challenges, and often involve suffering, so as to use our innate desire to transcend it as a catalyst for personal evolution.
Illness is an excellent example here.
Generally we regard illness as a pitiful and unlucky problem, but when you employ 'synchronistic perception', it will transform into a gift for growth.
A back problem might be teaching you to better support yourself; an eye problem might be teaching you to look at something you've refused to look at; the possibilities are endless.
Or perhaps the problems are not in your body.
Maybe you have a cockroach infestation? The synchronistic lesson here may be that you have an internal issue that you need to address, but are ignoring, so it is manifesting in the world around you.
But when you start to appreciate it as a gift for growth, it will impart its lesson and transform you, and in doing so it will transform from a problem into a teacher.
Once you've learned the lesson it had been given to you to teach, it will move on from your life.
This is just one example of an infinite number of ways that one can begin to work with synchronicity.
The possibilities are endless, but if you wish to better understand them, then you may wish to check out my upcoming film, Infinicity.
Only a small amount of information can be presented in an article, but a much greater range of ideas can be explored through a film.
So I'm making a movie about synchronicity to help guide people through the labrynth this complex and interesting phenomenon presents.
