• If camera size is important to you and you want a smaller one to keep a better grip on, then the Nikon D60 D-SLR's slightly smaller size might make it the camera for you. Nikon's D80 D-SLR camera measures 5.2 inches wide, 4.1 inches tall and 3 inches thick and weighs 1.3 lbs. The Nikon D60 D-SLR camera weighs 1.1 lbs and measures 5 inches wide, 3.7 inches tall and 2.5 inches thick. • If you're worried about the quality of the pictures these cameras take, relax: they both provide high-quality photos that can be used in most settings. Both the Nikon D80 and D60 cameras capture images at a 10.2-megapixels in three image-storing sizes with differing resolutions: 3,872 by 2,592 pixels (large), 2,896 by 1,944 pixels (medium) and 1,936 by 1,296 pixels. Light sensitivity range for the D80 is International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 100 to 1600, while the D60 uses ISO 100 to 3200. These ranges indicate how sensitive the camera is to the light present in the photo. The higher the number, the more sensitive the lens is to light. Lens and Editing

• The Nikon D80 D-SLR camera is compatible with all Nikon AF and AF-S lenses, while the D60 is compatible only with AF-S lenses. AF and AF-S lenses provide auto focus functionality and are ideal for taking pictures of objects that don't move, such as flowers or sunsets. • Both the Nikon D80 and D60 D-SLR cameras contain a built-in Secure Digital card slot that supports SD and SDHC memory cards for image storing. The amount of pictures stored will depend on the size of memory card used and the resolution setting of the picture. The D80's maximum flash distance is nine feet, while the D60's is 39 to 43 feet, depending whether manual or automatic flash is used. For those pictures you want to be a part of, a self-timer is built in to each camera that is electronically controlled in two, five, 10 and 20 second intervals.
