Seven Actions to Minimize Pollution

If you've been hiding under a rock, here is the latest update.
The earth is on a downwards spiral to extinction.
Scientists estimate at least 10,000 species extinctions a year.
70% of them believe that man's pollution has played a large role in their annihilation.
Here are seven ways you can lessen the excessive amounts of pollution we're leaving behind: 1.
Reduce.
The pollution caused by dump sites can be reduced by cutting down on the amount of waste left behind for the garbage truck.
2.
Reuse.
Don't just throw away something that can still be used just because you no longer want or need it.
Hold a garage sale or donate your unwanted items to charity.
3.
Recycle.
Hand in your old newspapers, PET bottles, aluminum cans, and old batteries at the local recycling center.
Glass, mercury, and steel are also items that should be removed from your trash bins and sent over to the center for pollution reduction.
4.
Dispose.
Some household products should not be thrown in the landfill because of the ground and water pollution they create.
Dispose of battery acid, antifreeze, cleaning products, corrosive materials, any other product labeled toxic, corrosive, or flammable, and powders or solutions that contain petroleum distillates, or phenol properly by turning them over to accredited waste management firms.
5.
Compost.
Not only will there be less trash in dumping sites, your garden soil will be richer in nutrients as well.
Look up what plants grow in what types of compost for better garden management.
6.
Mail.
Old mobile phones, batteries, electronic equipment, printer inks or cartridges, medical supplies and expired medicine, fluorescent and incandescent lights, and even paper and plastic can be sent to a mail-back program for recycling.
This is especially beneficial for those who don't want to lug it all over to a center.
7.
Bag.
If you're on a nature trip, out in the ocean, or sitting at the park and unable to find a trashcan, bag your litter until you do find one.
Be part of the solution against pollution.
Every little bit helps in the fight against pollution and global warming.
What you cannot sacrifice can always be traded in for things that you can surrender more of.
Or to ease your mind, remember that all this effort to reduce pollution is to provide a viable future for your children's children and for generations to come.
