Climate Change Doom

What is all this hue and cry about climate change? I guess, all these clippings in the newspapers and discussions in the online forums, about an impending disaster, has undoubtedly left you unsure and in a state of shock as to what should be the logical way to await this doom.
We should not panic, even though the damage we inflict on nature is beyond any sort of redemption, we can make our small contribution to slowing down this escalating pace of global disaster.
But first of all, we need to have a clear idea about what we are facing.
Climate change, as some scientists say, is an amazingly simple term for a phenomenon that is so complex and difficult to predict, that millions of meteorologists spend their entire lives just trying to grapple with a minuscule of factors which trigger this change.
In the present lexicon of scientists, climate modification seems an obsolete term since climate changes, or has to change, from time to time.
Some places will get warmer owing to the gaseous imbalances and weather phenomena occurring in the stratosphere, some places even get cooler.
But overall, the anthropomorphic factors have resulted in a global increase in temperature.
You have heard your friends and colleagues talking a lot about greenhouse gases and some have even falsely commented that these gases are man made, harmful effluents of the innumerable chemical factories and industrial cities doting the earth at the present moment.
Well, you can safely tell them that greenhouse gases have been around for the past few million years, ever since the creation of the earth.
Greenhouse gases were always there, but in a healthy proportion so as to ensure that all the features of nature remain in a fit state of survival and civilizations progress at a healthy pace.
But man was suddenly seized with a desire to make his life more comfortable and get things done in a more effortless manner.
He cut down trees to cultivate huge tracts of land, he wanted better food than wild berries and the natural produce of the forest.
He sees to deforestation, barring the bosom of mother earth, to raise sky high settlements, so as to accommodate the huge increases in population.
In this process, he gives rise to a huge amount of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's), methane, nitrous oxide and sulphur dioxide which results in an overall alarming increase in the amount of greenhouse gases.
At the same time, we have been reducing the plant coverage to a bare minimum, which plays a crucial role in maintaining the global temperatures by releasing water vapor and absorbing the carbon dioxide to photosynthesize.
As a result of all these adverse practices carried out by man, we have triggered climate changes which are getting worse with every passing day.
