    • 1). Practice several basic yoga forms that concentrate on slow and deliberate respiration. One of the primary objectives of Qi Gong is to alleviate the body of tension--both physical and mental. By relaxing your mind, you will experience better results through your session.

    • 2). After you have relaxed yourself with the yoga exercises, place magnets--you can buy them from a sporting goods store or order them online--upon your body. Be sure to place the magnets on the areas where you feel pain; that is, if you have a sprained ankle, place the magnet on the joint. The magnetic field generated helps facilitate strong blood flow, which relieves tenseness and clots within a certain location.

    • 3). Heat the magnets by placing them in warm water. Once the magnets are at a temperature that is comfortable to touch, place them on you bare skin in areas affected by discomfort caused from ailments such as arthritis. The body's nervous system can depolarize a cell by sending charged pain signals. The heated magnets can stimulate blood flow and lessen the cell depolarization, which buffers the pain signals set through the nervous system.

    • 4). Keep the magnets in contact with your skin for at least 45 minutes. During this time, you should practice several breathing exercises to calm yourself mentally. Once you have completed the 45-minute session, remove the magnets from your body--you will notice a significant decrease in pain associated with that specific area.

    • 5). Install large magnets under you mattress, chair and any other areas where you remain stationary for prolonged periods. The purpose is to administer the principles of Qi Gong during your daily schedule. Studies in Japan have shown that individuals who have contacted magnets to themselves for extended periods (several hours) have enjoyed a sharp decrease in pain and discomfort.
