How to Decorate a Hallway Console
- 1). Make a contemporary design. Hang a sunburst mirror on the wall behind the console table. Choose a mirror with a silver-toned frame and a bold, chunky frame. Set a crystal-based lamp on either side of the console table surface. Top each lamp with a drum shade in a geometric-patterned fabric for an added touch of modern flair. Finish the hallway console decoration with a colorful, oblong bowl in the middle to hold keys and other items.
- 2). Create a Boho Chic console. Frame a large, vintage map in a distressed wood frame, and hang on the wall area behind the console. Place a tall, medium and small vintage world globe on the right-hand side of the table, as Boho Chic design often incorporates accessories from around the world. Complete the hallway console decoration with a tall wooden-based lamp on the left-hand side with a heavily-carved base and ethnic-inspired, fabric shade in a drum style.
- 3). Accent the console with a nature-inspired design. Hang a series of six green-framed botanical prints on the console wall, with three on the bottom row and three on the top row. Set a large, green vase on the right-hand side of the console table, and fill it with a real or faux arrangement of flowers. Further the design with a medium-sized Tiffany-style lamp on the left console side with a small flower-shaped bowl in front to serve as a catch-all for small items.
- 4). Accessorize a console with Country Cottage decor. Lean a large, wood framed folk art painting against the middle back of a console table for a casual look and feel. Flank the artwork with a medium-sized candlestick lamp with a homespun shade on either side. Place a basket tray in the middle to store mail and keys for a hallway console decoration with Country Cottage visual appeal.
