How to Create a Healthy Balance in Life
If you are in the age group of 40 plus, you most likely remember living a more balanced life than you are living now.
Around the ages of 1-12 years old life seemed like an adventure.
We all had hopes, dreams and fun with the wonderful scenarios that played out in our minds.
We ran and played outside with the neighborhood kids and nothing was impossible.
True we all had our own amount of stress to deal with, some more than others, but as children we seemed to have an incredible way of dealing with each situation.
Unfortunately some of us dealt with life's events by suppressing what made us unhappy, uncomfortable or insecure.
Next thing we knew we were teenagers who were on top of the world and we were going to live forever.
It was at this stage in life we were introduced to puberty and became all too aware that our bodies had chemicals that liked to change and upset the balance we once knew.
We became more aware of what other people thought about life and about us.
Pressures in our social groups began to increase and greater demands were put on our time from home, school and society.
Through all these changes we started to develop our own ways to deal with the new challenges life sent our way.
Sometimes these methods of coping were healthy and sometimes they were not.
Who would ever have thought it could be possible that the way we learned to cope with life as a younger person could actually affect our overall health today? Have you ever looked at your life and asked yourself the following: What things do I want or need to change? Why do I procrastinate? Am I peaceful inside? If not, how can I create the peace I desire? Am I able to keep my physical body fit, healthy and energized? If no is the answer, ask why I am not able to do so and what can I do to make the answer, yes? How often in a day are my thoughts negative? What can I do to create a more positive outlook in my life? These are just a few questions you may want to ask yourself to help determine what areas in your life need improvement.
The second step is to take action to find solutions that will help you achieve the changes you hope to make.
When we fail to take any action to move our bodies through work, play or exercise of some kind, our bodies start to lose flexibility and mobility.
If we consistently think negative thoughts and do not search for ways to help create positive thoughts in our daily life, we will hurt our ability to hope and dream.
Planning our lives and dealing with life's challenges can become very overwhelming if we don't have effective tools to calm our souls and restore a peace within ourselves.
If we can strive to achieve fitness in these three areas, we can obtain great health.
It's all about balance.
