Take Control of Your Relationships - A Healthy Power Trip
First, take a good look at the type of man you're attracted to.
Do you spot the outspoken and opinionated guy and head straight for him? Or do you let a strong-willed guy muscle his way into your life and take over? Are you mousy in front of his demands and simply give in? Right from the start you need to set up a barrier.
The guy who storms through and tries to take over will only take more and more control as the relationship grows.
This isn't healthy and you need to have more confidence in your own thoughts and desires.
It might be a bit intimidating at the beginning to tell a guy what you want.
What if he ridicules you? What if he thinks your suggestion is stupid? But know that the guy who is truly interested in you will want to know what you have on your mind.
Start small by suggesting where you'd like to have dinner, or the movie you'd like to see.
Chances are the guy you're with is going to be happy to hear you speak up.
Most guys aren't happy having to make all the decisions and there's a good chance the guys you dated looked forward to you opening up and speaking your mind.
Don't hold it all in.
Say what you need to say and have a healthy degree of control in your next relationship.
You'll both be happier for it and the relationship will have a better chance of succeeding.
