    • 1). Download iTunes. iTunes is Apple's official iPod management software. You can download and install iTunes by going to www.apple.com/itunes.

    • 2). Connect your iPod to your computer via the included USB link cable. Packaged with all model iPods is a cable that connects your device to your computer. One end goes into the bottom of your iPod while the other goes into a free USB port on your computer.

    • 3). Add music to your iTunes library. By opening iTunes and selecting "Add Files" from the "File" menu, you can add as many MP3s and compatible video files to your iTunes library as you wish. If a file appears in your iTunes library, it is compatible with it and will work on your iPod.

    • 4). Sync your iPod. By right clicking on the name of your iPod under the "Devices" menu in iTunes and selecting the "Sync" option, any song or video in your iTunes library will be transferred to your iPod.

    • 5). Use the scroll wheel on the front of your iPod to select songs and videos you want to play. You can use the scroll wheel to navigate through the iPod's menu and view songs and videos in categories like "Album," "Artist," "Song," and "Composer." To select a song or video to play, simply press the circular "Enter" button in the center of the iPod's scroll wheel.
