    • 1). Plug your iPod into your Mac using the docking cable that came with your iPod.

    • 2). Click the iTunes icon on your computer dock if the program does not open automatically.

    • 3). Click the name of your iPod under "Devices" in the column on the left side of the iTunes window to select it. Click the "Music" tab of the iTunes browser.

    • 4). Check the box next to "Sync Music." Choose from the two options to sync your entire music library or selected playlists, artists, albums and genres. If you choose the latter, select the music you want to import from the desired category.

    • 5). Click "Apply" and wait for the screen at the top of the iTunes browser to display "OK to Disconnect" before you unplug your iPod.

    • 6). Plug your iPod into your computer whenever you add music to your iTunes library and want to add it to your iPod. The device will automatically sync.
