How to Draw Band Logos
- 1). Select advanced graphic design software, a drawing, or a painting to create your logo. Computerized images have the advantage of being easy to modify and reproduce. However, a high-quality photograph of your drawing or painting can also be transferred to your computer. Subsequently, consider whether your band logo will be a symbolic image, literal image, or text-based.
- 2). Consider the impact of the colors you use. This will likely affect how your audience perceives your group's attitude, music, and skill. It may even affect your band's attire, leading to color-coded uniforms based on the logo design.
If you opt to include text in your design, research the font that will best reflect your band. It must be a font that prints well and can be easily reproduced, but not something you see everywhere. It should allow your group's wording to become noticeable in contrast to the other artists' over-used fonts. - 3). Sketch drafts of your design. Consider how you want to represent your band aesthetically and musically. Consider using three-dimensional effects, icons (skeletons, red/black color schemes) and other aesthetically-pleasing imagery. Keep in mind you may not want to create a highly-detailed logo, as it could become illegible in print or on screens. Stick to images, shapes, and a style that will make your band stand out.
- 4). Combine the text, color, and design to create your final logo.
