Causes of Boils and What You Can Do to Stop Boils Appearing

103 3
The most common cause of boils is from ingrown hairs.
It is quite common for people to get ingrown hairs especially now that more and more people are shaving more of their body hair off, particularly in places where the incidence of ingrown hairs is more common.
Around the genitals where the skin is confined to clothing for most of the day and there is often more heat and perspiration, there is also a greater chance of skin problems occurring.
It doesn't take much for a hair to become ingrown as the act of cutting the hair creates a blunt end that can be cut off below the surface of the skin.
This blunt end of the hair can have trouble breaking through to the surface and due to this the hair becomes ingrown.
Add to this the trapped skin cells and any other bacteria and the recipe for a boil is already there.
Boils are more common in young men and with fashion trends leading to more men trimming their pubic hair, there has also been an increase in the number of young men suffering from boils.
Cleanliness will go a long way towards helping reduce the chances of getting boils and it will also help if a suitable hair trimmer is used rather than relying on what many people use - blunt razors.
By shaving in all directions there is also less chance of the ends of the hair becoming 'blunt' and this will assist the hair to come to the surface rather than becoming ingrown.
Obviously, the less hair that is shaved the less chance there will be of an ingrown hair, and correspondingly boils so if you've got sensitive skin or are susceptible to boils then that is something that will need to be considered.
