How to Make a Paper Star That Turns Into a Circle
- 1). Take the first paper square. Fold it in half lengthwise. Crease sharply. Unfold the square.
- 2). Fold the paper square in half on the diagonal, matching point to point so that it forms a triangle. Crease sharply. Unfold the square and repeat the process on the other diagonal. Unfold the square.
- 3). Rotate the paper square so the first fold you made is vertical. Fold the top right corner into the center, where all the folds cross. Repeat the process with the top left corner. You should now have a five-sided figure resembling a house.
- 4). Fold the paper in half along the vertical crease you have already made. You should now have a five-sided figure with a point on top.
- 5). Rotate the paper figure so the pointed corner is at the top left and the longest side is at the top. Hold the figure by the point with your left hand. Push on the top right corner of the paper figure with your right hand so that it folds inwards along the creases you have already made. You should now have a four-sided figure resembling a parallelogram which appears to have two triangular "wings."
- 6). Repeat the folding process with the seven remaining paper squares.
- 7). Pick up one of your eight paper figures. Hold the figure so that the two long sides are horizontal, the two short sides go diagonally from left to right and the triangular "wings" are on the right. Pick up a second figure and hold it in the same way. Slip the left point of the second figure between the "wings" of the first one so that the point disappears and the short side of the second figure is aligned with the top long side of the first figure.
- 8). Fold the points of the "wings" of the first figure inside the "wings" of the second figure so that they are holding the two figures together. Repeat the process until all eight shapes are connected, forming a circular shape.
- 9). Carefully push down on the sides of your shape so the points of each figure slide out, forming the points of a star. Continue pushing gently until the circle is completely collapsed and your paper star is complete. If you want to return to the circle shape, pull each section gently outwards from the center of the star.
