    • 1). Attach the iPod Touch data cable to the port located at the bottom of the device. Connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your computer.

    • 2). Open the iTunes program on your computer.

    • 3). Select your iPod Touch from the list of "Devices" on the left side of the iTunes window.

    • 4). Click the "Summary" tab, then the "Restore" button. If you have previously backed up your iPod Touch on the same computer, iTunes will prompt you to select the backup you want to use to restore your device. Selecting a backup will restore all content to your device as of that backup. If no backup is available, iTunes will restore your device to its factory settings.

    • 5). Wait while iTunes syncs with your iPod Touch and restores the device. When the process is complete, iTunes will prompt you it is safe to remove the device from the data cable. The password is now removed and you can now use the iPod Touch.
