How to Make Frosting With Cane Sugar
- 1). Place about 1 inch of water into the bottom of the double boiler. Put the double boiler on a burner on the stove top.
- 2). Separate the egg white from the egg yolk. Discard the egg yolk, and place the egg white in the top of the double boiler. Add the sugar, honey, cream of tartar and water to the top of the double boiler, and place the top over the bottom of the double boiler.
- 3). Turn the burner to medium high to boil the water in the double boiler.
- 4). Mix the ingredients with the hand-held mixer set to one of the highest settings. Once the water in the bottom of the double boiler boils, you must beat the frosting ingredients for seven minutes. The frosting will become white and fluffy during this time.
- 5). Remove the double boiler from the heat, and add in the flavoring extract. Beat the frosting for another 30 seconds after adding the flavoring.
- 6). Use the frosting immediately.
