How to Give a Girl Space When Dating
- 1). Don't contact her for a few days. Instead, find other things to do such as hanging out with friends and family, looking for work if you're unemployed, developing new hobbies, doing some community service or doing tasks around the house. Also use this time to consider whether the young lady is someone you want to be with in a possible marriage situation.
- 2). Ask yourself if you've become too dependent on your girlfriend emotionally. If throughout the relationship you tend to get upset when your girlfriend can't go out with you on certain days due to family obligations, ask yourself if you were acting in a selfish and childish way toward her by demanding that your needs come before her family's needs.
- 3). Talk to relatives and friends who have observed your relationship. If your father feels that your girlfriend may have wanted some space because you haven't been honest with her about your desire to settle down and marry, consider his observations and don't get defensive. Or if your two good friends tell you that your girlfriend is not mature enough for a long-term relationship for reasons they've observed, ask them why they feel this way and ask them for specific examples of her immaturity.
