Are You Sabotaging Your Relationship

103 6
When things don't work out with a guy you have been seeing, is it possible that you are sabotaging your relationship? Can you look back and discern what mistakes you might have made, aside from the mistakes that the guys might have made? Would it help you to know some common errors so that you can avoid them in the future? Here are a few don'ts, to give you an idea whether you might be sabotaging your relationship.
Don't expect to change him.
One of the most common complaints by men about their girlfriends (and ex-girlfriends) is that women try to change men.
If you are in love with him, then accept him for who he is, flaws and all.
If you can handle the irritations without trying to make him change, then you will be building a strong relationship.
Before you get into anything too serious, take your time to really get to know your new love interest.
Once you do decide that he is the one for you, then take the bad with the good.
While you can work on your issues together, it is not fair to expect him to change just because you want him to.
Don't use sex to hook him.
It is much easier to find sexual attraction than it is to find love.
Sometimes, the initial attraction can grow into something more meaningful.
But this is by no means a guarantee.
So don't think that you can lure a man in by using sex.
If you do this, things might work out, but you also might end up sabotaging your relationship.
If you really want sex to mean something exclusive between the two of you, then you should wait until you have talked it out before you go to bed with him.
Don't try to plan his life for him.
You might know exactly what you want out of life.
You might want marriage, then kids, as well as a career.
Your goals and ambitions are legitimate, and you shouldn't hide them.
However, you need to find someone who wants the same things.
Don't just find someone you like, and then expect him to fall into your long-term plans.
You can build something meaningful by avoiding past mistakes.
If you make sure that you are not sabotaging your relationship, you will improve your chances of success.
