How to Craft Miniature Flowers
- 1). Soften a section of polymer clay. Press the softened clay into sheet. Set a clay pasta machine on setting 1. Roll the conditioned clay through the machine. The pasta machine makes a clay sheet with a uniform thickness.
- 2). Place the flat clay sheet on a work surface. Press the miniature flower/star shaped cutter into the clay. Remove the clay cutout. Cut out as many miniature flowers as you need for your project. Make a colorful group of flowers by repeating Step 1 and this step using a variety of clay colors.
- 3). Cut a length of 22-gauge green craft wire to the desired length of the miniature flower stems. Insert one end of the cut wire into one of the clay flower petals.
- 4). Preheat the oven to 275 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with tin foil. Arrange the clay flowers on the sheet so that they are not touching.
- 5). Bake the miniature flowers for 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool.
- 6). Cover the front of each miniature flower with clay glaze. Let the glaze dry. Repeat this step to add at least three coats of glaze. Flip the flowers and add three coats to the back of the flowers; let the glaze dry between coats.
- 7). Dot jeweler's glue in the center of each flower. Sprinkle seed beads onto the glue. Allow the glue to dry.
