I'm Marisa Voorhees. I'm a caterer, party planner, personal chef and holistic health coach. Get nourished with catering by Marisa's Kitchen. So today we're making a banana smoothie with cinnamon and milk. Now I'm excited about this one because this is a staple in my household. And I have a couple tricks for you. So one of the things that's first we'll talk about what goes into it. Into this smoothie, we're doing a cup of milk. Now I chose almond milk, but you can choose whichever milk you prefer. Soy, rice, cow milk, whatever works for you. So a cup of milk, you're going to do a big tablespoon of almond butter. If you can't do nuts, that's OK, you can skip it or you can do whichever nut butter you prefer. We're doing two tablespoons of maple syrup and a teaspoon of cinnamon. And then I'm adding some inulin to mine. Now this is a great fiber addition to smoothies. It's a great tip for things like this. A tablespoon gives you ten grams of fiber, which is an awesome thing. But, keep in mind, inulin doesn't work for everyone. Now it doesn't raise triglycerides, but for some people it's not so good on the gut. So just keep that in mind when we're working with it. Now one of my tips when working with banana smoothies is I like to keep my bananas frozen in the freezer. And I like to keep them in pieces. Sometimes you hear it just throw the banana in like this. Well let's be honest, it gets gross. So I take it and I peel it before it goes into the freezer, break it into three or four pieces. Remember how big you break it into because when you take it out of the freezer, that's how much you're going to put in. So if you break it into three pieces, three frozen pieces equals a banana into your smoothie. So I always have a bag of this going. It's a great thing to do if you don't have time to make banana bread, it's a great thing to do with your bananas so that you can use them again. So we're going to do a banana. I broke mine into four pieces before, so a banana goes in. So your almond milk, cinnamon, maple syrup, and a big tablespoon of almond butter. So now we're going to give it a blend. So now we're going to give it a blend. Great. Once it's well blended, in it goes to whichever cup you choose, and this actually happens to be a delicious smoothie if you had a perfectly pickled night. Enjoy. I'm Maria Voorhees, the food sensitive foodie. I hope you make sure you nourish, love and celebrate today.
