How to Make Pipe Cleaner Fairy Dolls
- 1). Slip a flesh-colored round wooden bead onto the end of a 10cm pipe cleaner in the color of your choice. Secure the bead in place by twisting the excess pipe cleaner at the top around the neck portion below.
- 2). Twist a second pipe cleaner onto the first horizontally at the point just below the head bead; this will serve as the fairy's arms. Use a pair of scissors to trim the pipe cleaner ends down to a desired arm length; discard the unwanted bits.
- 3). Wrap a flesh-colored fleece sliver about 1cm in width around the pipe cleaner arms; this step is optional, but it will give the arms a more realistic, flesh-colored look. Continue winding the fleece until you've completely covered the arms, and then cover any other portions of the body that will be exposed.
- 4). Drape a section of fabric or fleece over the fairy's shoulders and body to create a swaddled dress; secure any loose bits with a piece of yarn or ribbon of your choice. Make the dress billowy enough to cover the bottom half of the fairy; this way you won't need to create legs, feet or shoes.
- 5). Use extra fleece, yarn or ribbon to create your fairy's hairstyle and cover the bit of pipe cleaner you used to secure the bead in place. Glue the faux tresses onto the top of the wooden bead.
- 6). Use markers to create facial features and expressions on the front of the wooden bead. Add other embellishments, like glitter or a paper fairy wand, if you wish.
