Hi I'm Jenny Balding, professional hairstylist. Today I'm going to show you how to use hot rollers in medium length hair. Hot rollers are great if you're looking to achieve a lot of volume and a lovely wave through the hair also and today I'm going to show you how to actually place the hot rollers in the hair so you can get maximum volume and a really lovely wave or even a slight bit of a curl throughout the ends of the hair. The tools that you're going to need at home is a set of hot rollers, a tail comb for sectioning, a setting mist. So to protect and set the hair, I'm going to use Hot Sets 22 by Redken. So let's get started. I'm going to start taking a section from the front at the hairline here right back to the crown. This way you're going to get maximum volume in the hair. Then I'm going to work on the side areas and through to the back. You really, through the front area, you want to work every roller back, again for the volume and on the sides, just slightly at an angle so you can get that really nice wave when you take it down. So just take a section about an inch and a half long, not too thick depending on the thickness of the hair and this works for all hair types as well. So when misting the hair focus on going from roots to ends, smoothing it right into the tip so you don't buckle the ends when you're rolling it in the roller. You can use your fingers or you can use a tail comb, just to tuck the ends underneath, again to achieve maximum volume through that parted area which tends to lie a little flatter. There you go, and then you just place with your clamp. Next section, right behind. Again if you notice I'm just pulling the hair slightly forward. This way when you roll it up it will set on the base here which again will achieve maximum volume. Again tuck in your ends so as not to get them buckled, very important and then just roll right down so it's really easy in a fast way to get a really lovely big wave in your hair. So I'm going to just start working down to the side also. So now I've worked through the whole head with the rollers. I'm going to let it sit for about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the texture of your hair and then I'm going to take it out and I'll show you the end result and you'll see the gorgeous volume and wave in her hair. So I've taken the rollers out now and as you can see this has created such a lovely lift through the roots here and a really nice large wave kind of curled through here. So I'm going to just brush it out really lightly and just show you the finished result. So just lightly brushing out. You don't want to go too far into the roots and you can see that really gorgeous texture that you get just from using the hot rollers. Robin's fine to medium hair with hot rollers you can see what a fantastic result that is. You get so much volume, this gorgeous big loose wave running all the way through and it's so easy and quick to do. You can achieve this look at home so easily. So I'm just going to finish off just by misting with a little spray. So there you go, beautiful volume, great texture and wave through the hair. She's totally ready for a night out. And that's how you put hot rollers in medium length hair. I'm Jenny Balding and thank you for watching.
