How to Install a CD Player in a GMC Truck
- 1). Unfasten the screws around the dashboard, including the ones in front and on either side of the steering wheel. Pull the dashboard away from the steering column and undo the screw hidden behind it, under the steering wheel. This releases the entire dash. Remove the dashboard surrounding the radio area.
- 2). Undo the two bolts on either side of the factory radio using the ratchet. Slide the radio out of its slot and carefully unplug the wire harness and black plug from the back.
- 3). Hold the bracket over the radio slot and attach the two screws into the left and right of the bracket. Plug the wire harness adapter into the wire harness coming out of the radio slot and plug it into the back of the CD player.
- 4). Plug the black cable into the round hole in the back of the unit. Push the CD player into the radio slot and replace the dashboard along with the screws you removed in Step 1.
