How to Remove Glue From Baseboards
- 1). Turn a hair dryer on to the hottest heat setting. Hold the dryer nozzle 1 inch from the glue on the baseboard. Warm the glue for one minute or longer to soften the adhesive.
- 2). Wet a nylon scrubber with 2 tablespoons of mineral spirits. Lightly rub the scrubber across the softened glue until it dislodges from the baseboard.
- 3). Wipe the glue and mineral spirits from the baseboard with a damp cloth.
- 4). Spray a wood conditioner onto unpainted baseboards. Wipe the excess from the wood with a clean cloth. The wood conditioner restores any oils the glue may have removed.
- 5). Spray a lint-free cloth with a wood refinishing spray and wipe it over the affected area of the unpainted baseboards to restore shine to the wood.
