Advice on Asking Someone Out
He sees her about three or four days a week.
He has really wanted to approach Tammy, and ask her out, but he just isn't sure how to do that.
Where can he start? Below are some ideas for asking out that special person.
1) The first step is to overcome your fear, your fear of asking the other person, your fear of getting rejected, your fear of that hurt.
To make that first move, you may need to shore up your courage.
Know that this step outside your comfort zone can be the first step to making your life's dreams come true.
And, yet it is important to keep in mind that even if this person says no, you have made a huge step toward success with your new found courage and confidence.
2) When you consider which day of the week to set that first date, try Wednesday or Thursday.
This is a great night for a first date.
Many people feel that avoiding the weekend takes the pressure off, and lets them enjoy the interaction in a less formal way.
Friday and Saturday send a signal that things are a little more serious.
Avoid Monday if possible; this does not seem to be a great choice for a date night.
3) When asking that special someone out, be specific with the activity.
Determine what you want to do and what you think will be fun for your date.
Ask that person out by telling them about the current offering at the theatre, the great jazz band's upcoming show, or fireworks on the riverfront.
Capture this person's attention with a well thought out activity.
4) Be sure to ask your date well advance of the planned activity.
You want them to have time to plan, you don't want them to feel like this was a last minute consideration, and with a bit of advanced notice, it will be more likely that your chosen date will be available.
A week in advance is not too much notice, but you can also ask on Sunday for a Thursday date, for example.
5) Try to ask for the first date in person.
This will give you the chance for face to face interaction; which can help you make a good impression and see what their real body language reaction is to your request.
Try these ideas to make that first move, and pursue a first date with the great girl at your early morning coffee stop.
