Ferrari Leather

The first time that I saw a Ferrari, I drooled. It wasn't a car, it was a sculpture that happens to have an engine that allows it to move around. It was a Ferrari F340, cruising along our mundane suburban street. My friends and I looked on, captivated by the slick, hot red deliciousness moving farther away from us with every second that passed by. It looked great on the outside and at that time, we could just imagine what it looked like in the inside.

I finally got an idea of how equally luxurious it was in the inside as it was outside when my friend sent me a documentary on how Ferraris are made. The company-smelt engine and the aerodynamics were drool-worthy enough. The company uses its own alloy, it's own smelting units and everything is meticulously made. Imperfections as small as a millimeter of out of place metal must be corrected. A whole engine can be melted back to molten metal if doesn't pass the company's standard.

Another thing that struck me as amazing was the leather upholstery they put inside the car. A Ferrari is expensive enough, getting it customized leather even more so. It can cost a thousand to $10,000 to either re-upholster the car or have the interiors custom designed. But if you can afford a Ferrari, why not spend a bit more to make it just right for you? Though there is a default way to upholster the inside of a Ferrari, you can select from an array of colors and kinds of leather from the car company's set.

The leather is hand cut and sewn to the interior of the car. Every cut's size, quality and stitch is made and inspected by expert leather tailors. Since it is a very meticulous process, it takes a longer time to make than factory line cars. Strictly speaking, Ferraris are not mass produced.

I have never been in the inside of a Ferrari before but I kind of have an idea of how good their leather is. Aside from the interior of cars, Ferrari is also a brand for clothes and bags. Their price ranges from just over a hundred bucks to over a thousand per jacket or bag. The leather is fine and hardy, and it simply looks great.

Though the closest piece of Ferrari leather I can get my hands on is my dad's jacket, I swear I'm gonna own a Ferrari one day with customized leather upholstery. I think I'll get it burgundy.
