    • 1). Double-click on "My Computer" and then navigate to the folder whose restrictions you wish to remove.

    • 2). Right-click on the folder. A pop-up box will appear with several options. Select "Properties." The "Properties" window will now appear.

    • 3). Click the "Security" tab. At the top of the window will be a list of the users on this computer. Select the user you want to give permission to access this folder. If you want to lift restrictions for multiple users, repeat the following steps for each one.

    • 4). Click the check-box beneath "Allow" for each ability you wish to give the user. If you want to give someone access to all rights, check the box next to "Full Control."

    • 5). Click "OK" to complete the process. The user will now have the permissions you gave them when interfacing this folder's contents.
