How to Block Collect Calls on My AT&T Phone Line
- 1). Locate the number for AT&T's Customer Care Center on your telephone bill or use the main Customer Service number, 1-800-288-2747.
- 2). Call the AT&T Customer Care Center and speak to a representative.
- 3). Request that Billed Number Screening be added to your telephone service. From now on, an operator will inform your collect callers that collect calls are unauthorized and they need to use another form of payment.
- 4). Manually refuse any collect calls that continue to come through. International collect calls and independent companies or long distance carriers that do not use a billing validation database will continue to send collect calls through. When a collect call is received, an operator will ask if you accept the call. Refuse the call and hang up.
