Project for a Purse Made From Paper for Kids
- Stack two sheets of construction paper and staple them together along three of the edges. This will be the base of your paper purse. If you want to get a bit more complex, sew the edges together with ribbon instead of using staples.
- Punch a single hole on each end of the edge without staples. Check that there is at least a 1/2-inch margin between the hole and the edge of the paper, so you won't accidentally rip through the holes later.
- Cut a long strip of ribbon and thread each end of the ribbon through the holes on the sides of your "purse." For extra pizzazz, you could braid together three strands of ribbon to make your purse's strap.
- Tie the ribbon ends carefully so as not to tear through the holes. Now your strap is complete.
- Decorate your paper purse with markers, stickers, more ribbon and crayons. For some extra flair, add some sequins or stick-on gemstones.
