The 83rd Annual Academy Awards

The Oscar Awards are always one of my favorite red carpet events for beautiful hairstyles that translate to brides, prom queens, and special events the entire year. Check out this year's most memorable red carpet looks. Click on the image to see a larger view.

1. Anne Hathaway

Presenter at this year's event, Anne Hathaway encompasses what the Oscar Awards Red Carpet should look like with this absolutely stunning and classic hairstyle. Her subtle highlights and a low chignon lightly swept back at the nape of the neck. Could this look any more effortless and perfectly Hollywood all a the same time? Of course, this isn't the first time Anne has impressed me with her hair at the Academy Awards.

2. Scarlett Johansson

I'm a little shocked by the lack of glam by Scarlett Johansson on the 2011 Oscar Red Carpet. My hair looked like this the other day, and I promptly put on a hat. No glitz, no glamor, no smoothing serum. I guess I expect more at the Academy Awards, but I likely won't forget it.

3. Mila Kunis

2011 Academy Award Nominee, Mila Kunis is stunning with this updo featuring soft waves and a nod to the 20's with fingerwave-like styling that's swept to the side. I love the the way Mila's hair paired with her subtly dramatic makeup give her a timeless look.

4. Sharon Stone

I got a real spooky feel from Sharon Stone's look on the Red Carpet at the 2011 Oscars. Maybe that's what Sharon was going for, but somehow I think she missed her intended mark. The giant bouffant is a little scary, even for the the Academy Awards. Memorable? Yep, but I'll stop there. I guess I like Sharon with short playful hair better.

5. Jennifer Lawrence

Best Actress Nominee, Jennifer Lawrence played it safe with her perfectly highlighted blond soft waves at the Oscar Red Carpet. Sometimes a simple hairstyle like this can make a big glamorous impression, as Jennifer demonstrates with grace this year. Soft makeup completes her look. She makes being this beautiful absolutely effortless.

6. Halle Berry

Halle Berry and her perfectly messy, and artistically shaped pixie are always a memorable look for any red carpet. She certainly didn't disappoint at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.

7. Jennifer Hudson

I absolutely adore the high sweep and high shine in Jennifer Hudson's hairstyle. The ever shrinking Jennifer Hudson is a vision on this year's Oscar Red Carpet with a flawless look from head to toe.

8. Reese Witherspoon

The only thing more beautiful than Reese Witherspoons's smile has to be her hair. Ooh, la la, Reese. I absolutely adore this pretty, yet bold look that plays perfectly with her entire ensemble. Then again, I doubt Reese could look less than glamorous on the Red Carpet even if she arrived just out of bed.

9. Helena Bohnam Carter

I share a love and fascination for big, Victorian hair, and 2011 Oscar Nominee Helena Bonham Carter rarely misses an opportunity to impress me with her somewhat crazy hairstyles. I can only imagine what kind of elbow grease had to go into this look for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.
