Armoires are great store-it-all furniture that can be repurposed to suit your needs. They can be refitted and turned into entertainment centers, art storage and study desks. These fun DIY projects are easy to do and and all you need are some furniture hooks and pegboards. Keep an eye out for furniture sales so you get good deals on hardware and all the supplies you need.

Art and Craft Supplies Closet
Armoires in your room can be converted into art-and-craft supplies closets. You can attach furniture hooks and pegboards to the door of the armoire. This space can be utilized for hanging up art supplies. You can even put up a magnetic spice rack on the armoire door. The spice canisters are perfect for storing small items like beads and other little knickknacks. The upper shelves can hold large art items. You can even fold up your easel board and tuck it away on the upper shelf. Store the rest of your supplies in storage baskets and bins. Check out local furniture sales and online sales to find hooks, pegboards and magnetic racks for your DIY project.

Hideaway Desk
Turning the armoire into a stylish study space is a great idea. You can maximize the desk space in the armoire by making a roll-out desk. This can be done easily by affixing a piece of plywood onto mounted drawer glides on either side. You can ask for your parent's help for attaching the drawer glides. Make a notice board or desk calendar by adding dry-erase decals to the armoire doors. The best thing about this project is that the study space can be tucked out of the way by simply shutting the doors when not in use.

Media Storage and Entertainment Hub
Old armoires can be restored to make entertainment centers. The armoire provides excellent space to store your media library and electronics. Keep all your CDs and DVDs in storage bins and baskets. Your gaming console and speakers can kept in the armoire. Update the armoire by adding colorful wallpaper to the door and the back of the armoire. Add some personal artwork to the space with the help of stencils and paint.

These projects are a lot of fun and you can easily get all the supplies you need for it at furniture sales and local stores.
