How do I Program an X10 UR24A Remote Control?
- 1). Identify which devices you want to control with this remote. Look them up in the Library Code Tables, and note the code, or codes, for each device.
- 2). Turn on the device that you want to control with the UR24.
- 3). Take the UR24 and press the "Setup" button, holding it until the LED on the remote lights up and stays on. Release the "Setup" button.
- 4). Find the button on the UR24 for the device that you want to control and press it and release it. The LED indicator should flash off and back on.
- 5). Use the number pad to enter the three digit code that corresponds to your device. After you enter the code, the remote's LED indicator should turn off.
- 6). Aim the UR24 at your device and press its "Power" button. It should turn your device off. Use the UR24 to try a few more features on your device to ensure that you have programmed it correctly.
- 7). Teach the UR24 how to control devices that it does not know by holding its "Setup" button until the LED lights steady, pressing the mode button for the component that you want to control and briefly pressing the "Learn" button until the LED indicator turns off and on. With your remote's front end pointed at the UR24's front end, press the button that you want to program on the UR24 so that the LED blinks. Hold down the button that you want to teach on your device's remote until the LED on the UR24 turns off. When you are done teaching buttons, press the UR24's "Enter" key.
- 8). Use the UR24 to control your X10 devices by setting your X10 home network to house code "A" by turning the House Code dial on your transceiver to "A." Press the "X10" button on your UR24, then use the numeric keypad to enter the unit code of the device that you want to change. Use the appropriate button on the UR24 to control your device, then press "Enter" when you are done.
