    Milled Wood Moldings

    • Milled wood is the cheapest type of wood molding. Like other types of wood molding, it can be made from hickory, oak, cherry, ash, poplar, alder, and mahogany. Milled wood will give you the greatest design latitude, but it requires extra work to finish the wood because It usually comes in unfinished strips. Milled wood may also shrink and swell with humidity.

    Vinyl Wood Moldings

    • Vinyl wood moldings are wood-grained-printed, and they are sold pre-finished. Vinyl molding will give your walls an old plaster look. They will also save you time if you design them to match your color scheme. Additionally, vinyl wood moldings are low maintenance; they do not peel, swell, or shrink like other moldings.

    Toned Wood Moldings

    • Toned wood moldings are also pre-finished; however, they are stained. These moldings are easy to install because you can glue them to the wall using adhesive rather than nails. You can also use toned wood molding on doors, fireplaces and ceilings for decorative, classic show pieces.
