How to Give a Faux Brick Wall a 3D Look
- 1). Sand the entire wall using a sanding buffer with a fine-grain sanding ring, which will smooth down any roughness and make the wall evenly textured.
- 2). Vacuum the wall using a shop vacuum, which will remove any dust and debris.
- 3). Pour dark brown latex paint into a paint tray; then, coat a paint roller in the paint tray. Apply the dark brown latex paint over the entire wall. Allow the paint to dry for eight hours.
- 4). Pour medium brown texturized latex paint into another paint tray; then, coat one side of a 5-inch wide, 7-inch long rectangular sponge in the paint. Stamp the paint-covered sponge horizontally onto the wall. Remove the sponge to reveal the paint rectangle.
- 5). Repeat to apply medium brown rectangles horizontally over the entire wall, spacing each rectangle 1/2 inch apart. Allow the paint to dry for eight hours.
- 6). Pour light brown texturized latex paint into a third paint tray; then, coat one side of a 4-inch wide, 6-inch long rectangular sponge in the paint. Stamp the paint-covered sponge horizontally onto the center of one of the brown rectangles. Repeat to stamp a light brown rectangle into the center of each medium brown rectangle. Allow the paint to dry for eight hours.
